Summary

This northwestern Washington property had a few decent ingredients already, but needed lots of care all around to bring everything together. We added a beauty bark hill, installed new grass wrapped around the home, and made many general aesthetic improvements all over, giving the owners a great environment to keep up over the coming years.

The Challenges

This home is in a lovely location with lots of foliage around, but it needed a lot of attention to keep up with the natural beauty of its surroundings. This area gets plenty of rain, but despite that, we were faced with very hard, rocky land with little to no grass. And the bedding had a decent foundation but was well overgrown.

What We Made

We modified and filled a hill with beauty bark in the side/backyard, installed grass around the house, and did lots of general aesthetic touch ups such as rock clearing, pea gravel installation, and hedge pruning to give the owners a beautifully clean slate to maintain.

Equipment used:

  • Pickaxe

  • Rakes and buckets

  • Weedeater

  • Hedgebar

  • Ford Diesel 350

  • 2 ton dump trailer

  • Kubota tractor

  • Peat moss spreader

  • Lawn roller

  • Wheelbarrow

  • Installed 25-50 pavers from backyard to front along the house to create a pathway

  • Installed grass, 100-lb grass seed in backyard, blending into the front yard

  • Stage 3: Final aesthetic work
